Job summary

The Red Hat Operations Products and Technologies (PnT) team is looking for a Business Analyst to join our Operations Infrastructure team in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will work with teams across the company to ensure the implementation of strategic business priorities. You will provide expertise and analysis to understand and document business needs, identify and manage stakeholders, elicit requirements, and ensure consistent traceability. You'll need to communicate and collaborate frequently with global stakeholders from cross-functional teams to ensure that requirements are well understood and effectively prioritized. Additionally, you will assist with business readiness activities and project implementation.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Document existing operational capabilities and future needs, in terms of processes, standards, responsibilities, and infrastructure
  • Analyze organizational risks, gaps, and opportunities associated with future needs and proposed solutions
  • Document existing and proposed systems and processes using industry-standard notation like Archimate and Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN)
  • Work with globally distributed, cross-functional leaders, program managers, process analysts and delivery stakeholders to understand business needs and desired outcomes
  • Identify, document, and prioritize business objectives
  • Facilitate interviews and working sessions with business owners and subject matter experts to elicit, capture, and prioritize business requirements
  • Lead requirement definition and analysis, ensuring that requirements are complete, concise, comprehensible, and traceable; deconstruct them into concise user stories with clear acceptance criteria
  • Conduct walkthroughs to validate requirements; manage stakeholder expectations and requirement scope throughout a project
  • Support development of test plans, create test scripts, and facilitate user acceptance testing (UAT)
  • Partner with process analysts to assist with identifying new or changing existing processes, policies, or operational controls
  • Assist change management consultants and process analysts with business readiness planning, preparation, and delivery

Required skills

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in business administration, computer information systems, or a related discipline
  • 5+ years of experience in the business analysis domain and passion for the business process
  • Solid business insight; familiarity with sales financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes with experience documenting requirements
  • Working experience with Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) financial performance management or planning systems
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating work with global, culturally diverse, cross-functional stakeholder teams
  • Solid problem-solving and conflict resolutions skills
  • Ability to prioritize competing requirements and advocate for positive change
  • Solid technical and business communication skills, including building presentations
  • Working knowledge of G Suite, Microsoft Office, SmartSheet, and process documentation software like Lucidchart or Signavio
  • Proficiency in agile software development methodology
  • Business analyst or Six Sigma certifications are a plus
