The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for providing financial analysis to include comprehensive analysis on financial and reporting and operating results, short term and long-term forecasts, monthly financial reporting, budgeting forecasting and month-end closing procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Participates in ongoing initiatives to develop/implement tools for improving the forecasting and actual results reporting processes that support key financial and business metrics.
  • Works with FP&A team and managers throughout the business to develop budgets and forecasts
  • Partners with the Sourcing team to develop comprehensive forecasting models and insights into the Company's raw material purchasing activities.
  • Ability to understand the data tables behind the various reporting tools (Hyperion Essbase, JDE etc.) and mine data as needed
  • Partners with Engineering and Corporate Accounting to develop capital spending tools and analytic tools
  • Compile, review and analyze forecast to actual results on a monthly basis.
  • Work closely with the senior management team to continually improve product profitability and business performance.
  • Make recommendations on increasing margins and reducing costs based on analysis.
  • Work with IT to develop and compile custom reports for decision making purposes based on management needs.
  • Ability to develop insightful Power Point presentations for Executive Leadership.
  • Perform business scenario modeling analyzing capital projects, new product development and cost saving projects (ROI, IRR, Paybacks).
  • Work closely with the Plant Accounting teams to help strengthen internal controls and reporting accuracy.
  • Maintain appropriate internal control safeguards over financial reporting as required
  • Performs other assignments as directed.


POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting. MBA Preferred.

Experience: 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, public company and cost accounting experience preferred

Computer Skills: Strong proficiency in Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and common database reporting tools, including technical proficiency building complex models. Extensive experience using tools such as JDE, SAP, PowerOLAP or Hyperion Essbase.

Other Requirements: Ability to work with large amounts of data and synthesize relationships, trends and insights and communicate findings to an executive audience. Strong math, analytical and financial skills are essential with a proven track record of successfully delivering analysis that drives tactical and strategic decision making. Manufacturing/cost accounting experience a plus.
