NexGen Cost Accounting Project (NCAP) is a project that will create and implement a new cost accounting and revenue allocation solution that allows for patient and member level reporting of financial results. We are looking for a person to join the regulatory cost team. The team member will assist in designing an NCAP regulatory cost solution, including research to help support the model design, they will also help with test planning and test execution (including variation analysis).

This position will be expected to be a strong analyst with a degree of technical proficiency and solution design, be an effective communicator, and able to manage to timelines. Specifically, the person in this position:

-Independently determines and implements appropriate measurement and analytical methods to achieve specified analytical or task objectives.

-Exercises independent professional judgment regarding analysis assumptions and data quality.

-Identifies and resolves data quality issues, as required.

-Collaborates work with other team members to accomplish specified analytical project or task objectives.

-Leverages solution patterns developed by system architects to design data transformation processes and documents those processes in Business Requirements Designs per project standards.

-Works with technical staff to implement business designs.

-Develops business / UAT test plans and test queries to demonstrate that solution supports business objectives.

-Works with project and vendor staff (Strata) to implement the regulatory cost solution in an external tool

-Determines the most informative approaches to summarizing data and communicating analytical results. Develops, as required, innovative or customized templates and formats.

-Given project or task data requirements, determines the most efficient approach to data collection and validation and works independently to obtain needed data from Kaiser systems (e.g.OneLink).

-Present and participate in project meetings.

-Applies analytic knowledge, skills and experience to perform project-related work, complete specific project tasks, and create project deliverables.

Minimum Requirements

-Demonstrated effectiveness in written and verbal communication of technical material.

- Experience with dues revenue and patient revenue

-Demonstrated effectiveness working as a member of a technical project team on complex projects.

-Experience writing ETL requirements for incremental batch processes that integrate large datasets from multiple sources.

-Familiarity with data modeling concepts

-Advanced understanding of SQL (ability to to create code - not just read/manipulate)

-General knowledge of software development life cycle milestones and deliverables

-Understanding and working experience with financial statements, general ledger and regulatory financial reporting

-Skills in analytical methods including problem and model formulation, algorithm selection, and development of overall solution strategy.

-Creativity, critical thinking, and excellent problem-solving skills.

-Outstanding written and verbal communication and effective interpersonal skills.

-Considered functional expert.

Desired Skills

-General Accounting background or CPA (Certified Public Accountant) a plus

-Knowledge of healthcare industry, especially healthcare analytics preferred.

-Familiarity with Kaiser Permanente healthcare system preferred- including Claims Datawarehouse, Rx and costing.
