Requirements

Job Responsibilities:

  • Writes functional requirements (including story mapping, acceptance criteria, user stories, workflows, etc.)
  • Analyzes and independently identifies problems within the software and/or clients' data to create requirements
  • Documents system processes, business rules and logic needed to fully incorporate a business process into the system
  • Ensures requirements/stories are collaboratively defined, written, and understood by the team at the appropriate level and at the right size in order to deliver value
  • Supports engineers in implementing requirements by prioritizing, refining, and clarifying requirements
  • Identifies and documents story dependencies to help facilitate backlog refinement sessions
  • Provides input to action plans to resolve client problems
  • Develops requirements and specifications for software solutions by studying information needs: conferring with users, studying systems flows, data usage and work processes, investigating problem areas
  • Solves problems and/or conducts analyses
  • Functions as a liaison between R&D, product management, support, client services, and/or clients
  • Tracks and documents progress of requirements which may include identifying roadblocks, proposing, and troubleshooting solutions
  • Facilitates a team to consensus on scope, design, decisions, and implementation decisions.
  • Asks strong questions to help the team see areas that may lead to problems.
  • Strengthens job and product knowledge by participating in educations opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations


Education:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field


Preferred:

  • Certified Software Business Analyst (CSBA)
  • IIBA Entry Certificate in Business Analysis (ECBA)
  • IIBA Certified Business Analyst Processional (CBAP)
  • IREB Certified Professional for Requirements Engineering (CPRE)


Experience:

Required:

  • 3+ years as a business analyst in a software development environment
  • 3+ years' experience in information analysis, software design, software documentation, software testing, software development fundamentals, software development process, software requirement


Preferred:

  • Healthcare software experience with healthcare claims data and/or electronic health records
  • SQL or Postgres a plus
  • Working knowledge of Atlassian JIRA, Confluence
  • Understanding of clinical workflow

Job Description

Summary:

A Business Analyst in our R&D organization is responsible for understanding the NextGen product family for which the position supports. This involves learning how the product is used by our clients and diving into system workflows. A Business Analyst is accountable to analyze business requirements and articulate the business value to be delivered. Then transform those requirements into actionable technology requirements which includes identifying functionality, developing user stories, analyzing workflows, identifying business and regulatory needs, and defining system output. These tasks are completed by collaborating with internal stakeholders and possibly external clients and performing clinical and business analysis.
