Are you interested in a career in Financial Planning and Analysis? Our summer internship is a 2-3-month engagement where you are given the opportunity to get hands on experience working on key projects for the FP&A group here at VEREIT. You will have the opportunity to work closely with your mentor and network with other VEREIT employees and departments to ensure you receive well rounded exposure to the REIT industry. Along with working on key projects you will have the opportunity to hear from key executives during our Lunch & Learn program, participate in social events, meet and greet with our CEO, and more. This opportunity will be Monday through Friday with a business casual attire.

The Role
- Analyze corporate expenses to aid in the understanding of key metrics
- Prepare monthly and quarterly budget vs. actual comparisons with variance explanations for the executive team and Board of Directors
- Collaborate with the accounting department to understand operating performance
- Help maintain portfolio and property data underlying business plan forecasts in Argus
- Assist with quarterly secured debt compliance
- Help in the preparation of the corporate financial model used for earnings guidance
- Various ad hoc analysis
Qualifications
- Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a desire to be challenged and advance rapidly
- Desired skills include Excel modeling and forecasting, data analysis, valuation, and/or other related finance activities
- Familiarity with accounting systems (MRI), Argus, etc. are a plus but not required
- Ability to perform self-directed, multi-faceted work in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
- Enrolled as a junior or senior at an accredited 4-year school
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
- Expressed interest in commercial real estate or related field
- Completion of real estate and/or business/finance related courses preferred
