Senior/Project Financial Analyst

Our exciting client, a small, growing start-up in Washington, DC, is building out its corporate team and adding a Senior Financial Analyst to assist on a multitude of projects. This is a highly unique situation and opportunity for a rising star to become involved with an early-stage start-up.

Opportunity:
The Senior/Project Financial Analyst will partner with Owner/Founder of company, and play a central role in implementing the company's project and corporate financing strategies. This individual will be responsible for conducting investor and lender due diligence, building and managing project finance models, communicating with investors and lenders, and providing financial support to the Business Development team to screen and underwrite new projects. The Project Finance Analyst will work closely with Leadership to devise and implement financing strategies at the corporate and project level to optimize the growth of our business.

Position Overview:
  • Work closely and collaboratively with the Leadership Team to determine and execute on project financing strategies
  • Lead due diligence for multiple stakeholder relationships, including project lenders, equity investors, and M&A partners
  • Provide support to the team to establish financial underwriting metrics and screen new project development opportunities
  • Generate and manage financial models at the corporate and project level
  • Work with Management to negotiate, execute, and deploy financing facilities
Qualifications & Preferences:
  • BS in Finance or Accounting
  • 2+ years of corporate finance training - FP&A, modeling and operational analysis
  • Real Estate or Energy industry preferred
  • Strong MS Excel and PowerPoint skills required (building and managing complex modeling, building reports, and creating attractive presentation materials)
  • Ready to work in a fast-paced, early-stage, startup environment
  • Must be ready to "roll-up-your-sleeves" and get involved in projects across various niches and depths
  • Skilled at defining problems, collecting data, establishing the facts, and drawing valid conclusions
  • Highly organized, independent, and self-motivated; commitment to delivering consistently accurate and high-quality work product
