Lakeshore Learning Materials is searching for a Family Office Senior Accountant to join our team at the company headquarters in Carson, CA. You will play a key role in the Family Office group, working with a small team while providing diversified day-to-day support to company owners and family clients. You're sure to be busy and fully engaged from the first day, and we guarantee there will never be a dull moment. Our ideal candidate will possess:
• A client service accounting background with an emphasis in tax service supporting high net worth individuals and partnerships. Experience in business management or a previous family office a plus
• The ability to work with outside professional service firms, investment advisors, bankers, insurance brokers and other experts to ensure the highest level of service for family clients
• The ability to juggle multiple tasks for multiple family clients and meet department demands in a timely manner
• The trustworthiness, humility and discretion of a true professional
• Outstanding organizational skills with the ability to prioritize assignments and manage timelines
• Exceptionally high attention to detail, intellectual curiosity and unmatched problem-solving skills

Job Description

Responsibilities:
• Responsible for maintaining the general ledger for family office entities, posting journal entries and preparing quarterly financial statements
• Coordinate all payments from family office entities, including recurring bills, distributions, tax payments and capital calls
• Play lead role in working with outside CPA firm in all tax filings for family clients and investment entities. Recommend tax planning strategies
• Prepare cash flow projections for family clients and entities
• Prepare weekly and monthly investment summaries for family clients
• Assist with family client projects big and small
• Coordinate input from outside counsel and professional service providers in relevant areas
• Work on ad hoc projects

Qualifications

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field required; Master's degree in Tax or Accountancy a plus
• CPA license required
• 4+ years of related experience
• Prior experience supporting owners/business operators with high net assets
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks
• Solid understanding and working knowledge of financial statements
• A team player mentality with the ability to work independently
• Strong interpersonal skills and an approachable demeanor
• The ability to leverage technology when possible and look for ways to automate procedures
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• The ability to observe the highest levels of confidentiality
