Who we are looking for

The State Street’s Alpha Data team is seeking a versatile, self-motivated individual with strong business systems analysis skills, data management experience and an understanding of business intelligence tools and principles to partner with business stakeholders and IT colleagues on the expansion of our ECF information delivery offering. The successful candidate must be inquisitive, have excellent verbal, written and presentation skills, demonstrate an ability to liaise between business/implementation and technology teams, and collaborate with various audiences to build consensus on what constitutes a successful project outcome

The Enterprise Control Framework monitors events across State Street and CRD platforms, enforces business controls throughout the client data management lifecycle, and ultimately ensures the highest data quality standards are met as part of our Alpha Data Services offering. Several components have been developed within the ECF platform to eliminate manual processing, reduce operational risk and promote transparency into State Street’s operational processes both internally and for our clients.

What you will be responsible for

As Business Software Analyst you will

  • Actively participate and moderate (as needed) in business requirement elaboration and functional design sessions to develop an understanding of our Operational team’s analytical needs, key data flows and sources
  • Assist business Operational teams in the buildout of Checklists and event monitoring workflows within our Enterprise Control Framework platform
  • Build effective working relationships with Operational users, Reporting and IT development teams and business partners across the organization
  • Conduct interviews, generate user stories, develop scenarios and workflow analyses
  • Contribute to the definition of reporting solutions that empower the Operational team to make immediate decisions as to the best course of action
  • Document functional requirements using both Waterfall and Agile approach; providing context for how deliverables will address business goals
  • Perform some business user acceptance testing
  • Provide production support and troubleshooting for existing operational dashboards
  • Conduct regular demos and training of new features for the stakeholder community

  • Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • University degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, MIS, Information Technology or related field of study
  • Minimum 5 years’ of SQL required
  • Track record of implementing effective software solutions either through AGILE or other SDLC approach in the Financial Services Industry
  • Prior experience developing within a BI reporting tool (e.g. Spotfire, Tableau, Looker, Information Builders) a plus
  • Excellent English language skills, both spoken and written
