The Centre for Local Governance Advocacy welcomes applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Finance Officer
DUTIES
• prepare consolidated financial report in line with EU project
• finance systems that will meet EU requirements ensure all expenditures are in line with the approved project
• budget prepare timely and accurate financial reports in line with narrative reports that meet the requirements of EU
• prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports in line with EU requirements
• ensure that project cash flows (income, expenditure and fund transfers) are managed in a timely and accurate manner
• provide ongoing financial risk analysis and recommendations of risk management strategies
• support Project Coordinator with project narratives in relation to expenditure and financial risks
• facilitate internal and external audit processes and ensure audit requirements are monitored throughout the project work with the Project Coordinator and PIC to ensure that audit recommendations are complied with
• prepare project documentation for audit at all levels of the project support the Project
• Coordinator to fulfill the requirements for internal and external audit work closely with the Municipal Level Project
• Implementation Committee (MULPIC) to monitor the budget utilisation and communicate any issues.
• ensure financial integrity of the project
• ensure the project complies with the EU procurement
• processes perform any other duty that will be assigned to him or her
Qualification Required & Experience
• A tertiary level qualification in Accounting
• Professional qualification in Accountancy preferably level 2 of any of the Professional qualifications: ICA Ghana, ACCA, CIMA/CPA
EXPERIENCE
• Must have experience in European Union contract management and financial Reporting
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English
• Proven ability to prioritise in a demanding environment and to meet tight deadlines
• Strong analytical, financial reporting and presentation skills with the ability to present complex issues clearly and concisely
