1.0 role PURPOSE

A finance administrator at Gong is responsible for working closely with the Finance Director and agency management team to provide financial support services to ensure the profitable and efficient running of Gong.

2.0 KEY RESPONSIBILIITES 

External financial responsibilities:

  • Process, maintain records and complete all VAT and associated reporting on a timely basis
  • Raise, process and manage all client invoices and associated cost recharges
  • Complete monthly financial controls to ensure accurate books and records are maintained at all times, specifically bank reconciliations, fixed asset register, nominal ledger reconciliation and prepayment/accrual schedules

Internal Financial Management responsibilities:

  • Maintain disciplined cost control and manage office costs to budget including petty cash reconciliations
  • Responsible for managing the companies £ and $ bank accounts and processing all payments and reconciliations
  • Responsible for all international payments
  • Ensure any staff expenditure is within expense policy and controlled appropriately
  • Manage staff timesheet process and monthly resource reporting
  • Monitor and actively manage cashflow within the business, specifically ensuring creditors are paid within agreed payment terms and outstanding debtors are subject to a strong credit control process
  • Work closely with the FD to draft budgets and forecasts
  • Support the Directors to effectively manage performance of staff and the business as a whole via the provision of financial information on a timely basis
  • Help with any enquiries from our international office
  • Continual assessment and improvement to the financial processes and controls

Office management and operations:

  • Manage the preferred supplier list

 

 

3.0 REQUIREMENTS 

  • Proven work experience as a Finance Administrator or similar role
  • Good knowledge of bookkeeping procedures and debt collection regulations
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software e.g. QuickBooks, Xero
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel (using financial formulas and creating spreadsheets)
  • Solid data entry skills with an ability to identify numerical errors
  • Good organisational and time-management abilities
  • Personable
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Degree in Finance, Accounting or relevant field is desirable or a part qualified ACCA
