Manager/ Senior Manager Opportunities in Independence
Background
The growth of the Irish firm and increasing regulation and additional regulatory oversight has created a need for a Manager and Senior Manager in the firms Independence Group.
The Roles
This is an excellent opportunity for a dynamic and driven individual to get exposure to the ever increasing regulatory and professional developments impacting the firm. The roles will require flexibility to work on various projects and lead on new developments on practices in an every changing and dynamic regulatory environment.
The work is varied and intellectually stimulating. Individuals will gain a deep and broad understanding of the independence rules and firm policies as well as opportunities to develop cross-SLs and global networks.
Primary responsibilities will include assisting in the following:
Day to day responsibility on maintenance of the firm’s quality controls over application of the independence policies, including those to be issued by the Irish Auditing and Accounting Supervisory Authority (IAASA)Monitor compliance with independence requirements which stem from laws, applicable professional standards and global policyInvolvement in the firms independence consultation processesWorking with the firm’s global and regional independence teams to support compliance with the firm’s global independence policiesAttendance at monthly independence board meetings and regional independence network callsAssisting with the independence training of staffWork closely with Service Line Leaders and the risk management and professional practice group on mutual projects and initiatives.Assist in the firms engagement with the regulators of the firm and assist in inspections undertaken by IAASA, CARB and the PCAOBAlong with the independence and regulatory team ensure timely communication of key independence and regulatory mattersParticipation in large firm working groups and other professional committees and fora Qualifications/ skills
Knowledge and experience of the Firm’s Independence Policy or risk management is an asset, but not essential.Good analytical and interpretation skills; ability to think strategically and handle complex concepts.Prior auditing or accounting experience is a pre-requisiteService orientated and commercially-minded at solving problems.The ability to communicate with colleagues at all levels including delivering tough messages to senior leaders. Adaptable and flexible with good team working skills and the ability to multi-task. Ability to build strong working relationships with service lines and develop an excellent understanding of their business.
