Position Description
This management position is within the Investor Services business unit of the State Street Alternative Investment Services Group.
AVPs interact with all levels of professionals both internally and externally. Therefore, exceptional interpersonal and communication skills are required. Candidates must demonstrate initiative, be able to perform well under pressure and simultaneously handle multiple assignments. AVPs are responsible to direct the day-to-day Investor Services operations for several client sponsored investment funds.
Main Responsibilities:
i) Managing Operations
Team is responsible for financial transaction processing (subscription, redemption, transfer, switches, redemption wire payment, expense wire payment, distribution wire payment) and non-financial activities (new investor creation, contact creation, static data maintenance, statement distribution, audit confirm creation, responding to investor / client queries, multiple time bound projects) both maker and checker. Ensuring seamless service delivery is the primary responsibility of the AVPClient / investor query resolving – taking initiative to own all types of client & investor communication – emails & telephonic.Certain transactions require second review by AVPs depending on amount & risk involved – AVPs are expected to be fully hands on with process to be able to sign off such transactionAVPs are expected to handle new client / activity transition actively (hiring of staffs, designing training model, monitoring training progress, flagging issues with training, signing off go live)Delegate tasks and manage employee developmentCoordinate with auditors internal and external to meet deadlines and requirementsEnsure all internal controls and compliance procedures are properly implementedTo escalate and discuss issues as requiredIdentify scope for process improvements on an ongoing basis ii) Service Delivery & Service Quality
Adhere to State Street Alternative Investment Solutions (AIS) strict internal control proceduresEnsure monthly and quarterly client deliverables are achievedActively guiding team to go through difficult situationDuring the course of normal day to day operation, responsible for identifying any unusual or potentially suspicious transaction activity and must report and/or escalate in accordance with corporate policy and guidelines detailed in relevant operating procedures.Take active role in performing error analysis, agreeing on remedial action plan & implementing agreed controlsEnsure continuous quality improvement iii) People Management
Demonstrate positive leadership and people management skills and the ability to work well with others, individually and within a groupCoordinate performance planning process including goal setting, regular and immediate feedback and submission of formalized performance appraisals on designated staffActively monitoring staffs under special performance monitoringParticipating in total compensation planning for the teamLead by example and support employee development and growth iv) Other Responsibilities

A strong foundation with communication and interpersonal skills are essential. Candidates with the following attributes, skills and experience are preferred:
Proactive – self starter Ability to multi–task and work under time constraints without compromising on qualityCandidate should be open to work in European and North American shift hours as needed by the businessAbility to attend conference calls during non-local business hoursMS office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Visio, PowerBI, SharePoint)Proven track record of innovation (knowledge of VBA and advanced excel skills would be beneficial) Prior staff management experience Fluency in writing and speaking English Academy and experience required:
