Head of Compliance (Real Estate)

The Company

Our client is leading developer and asset owner in Asia with a solid portfolio across residential, commercial, industrial and hospitality. As they continue to expand their presence in the region, they are seeking a Head of Compliance to join their dynamic team in Singapore.

The Role

Reporting to the Chief Risk & Compliance Officer for the Group and dotted line to the CFO, you will lead a team and be responsible for overseeing the compliance function for the business and lead the initiatives in driving implementation of compliance requirements aligned with the company's compliance risk management framework. You will provide advisory to the business on regulatory requirements and ensure adequate measures to mitigate potential compliance risks. Last but not least, you will also lead the development and delivery of compliance-related training and work closely with Risk and Compliance counterparts across the region to ensure overall compliance risks of the organization are adequately managed.

Your Profile

As the successful candidate, you will possess a degree in accountancy, finance or legal with at least 15 years of relevant experience in compliance and/or internal audit, with solid knowledge of compliance framework, laws, regulations and risk management principles. Prior international compliance experience will be essential, ideally in China, Vietnam, Thailand, Myanmar and Indonesia. Relevant experience in the real estate industry and background in legal will be highly preferred. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills will be essential.
