Change Public Practice are working with one of Scotland's leading independent Chartered Accountancy firms in Glasgow to assist them in the hire of an experienced Part-Qualified Accounts Assistant.
This business is one of the longest established CA firms in Scotland and therefore have a fantastic reputation across all of their service lines and offerings - both internally and externally. Across all services there is a strong level of staff retention which is largely attributed to the quality of work and the internal working culture and work-life balance that is on offer. This firm offers flexible working hours including early and later starts in addition to other incentives which really make a difference in the overall working culture.
This role will involve working with a client base which includes small - medium sized organisations across various industry sectors including charities, farming, healthcare and retail. Responsibilities will also include:

Preparation of accounts for partnerships and sole traders ·
Preparation of accounts for audit exempt companies and online filing ·
Preparation of charity accounts ·
Preparation of management accounts including reconciliation of key control accounts ·
Taking ownership of assignments from planning through to completion ·
Preparation of draft tax computations and online filing ·
Preparation of VAT returns and bookkeeping responsibilities ·
Assisting with the coaching and training of junior members of staff
Requirements:
·
Ideally you will have a minimum of 2 years' experience working within a similar sized Public Practice firm i.e. Top 10, mid-tier-, independent CA firm ·
You should be currently working towards, or nearing, a professional accountancy qualification i.e. ACCA ·
Experience of preparing accounts within the charities, farming, healthcare and retail sectors would be highly advantageous ·
Knowledge of carrying out independent examinations of charity accounts would be highly advantageous but not essential ·
Must have strong communication skills and started to gain exposure of being the main point of contact for your own portfolio of clients ·
Must be competent in the use of SAGE software and experience of training clients on Sage would be highly beneficial
