Finance Assistant - Accounts Receivable
Would you like to gain varied finance experience within a Shared Services environment? We currently have a vacancy for a Finance Assistant - Accounts Receivable at our site in Glascoed.
As a Finance Assistant you will report to the team Supervisor and are responsible for the delivery of service activities on behalf of our customers. You will be responsible for effective execution of the financial processes and ensuring these are accurately documented. Whilst the role is focussed specifically on service activities carried out in Glascoed, you may be required to assist the Accounts Receivable Manager with various other projects that may involve short stints of travel.
This role will provide you with the opportunity to work within a Finance Service Centre of excellence, working with 13 different business partners. BAE Systems is an ACCA and CICM approved employer and a study support package can be available after 6 months of employment.
Your main responsibilities as a Finance Assistant - Accounts Receivable will involve:
Conversing of purchase orders into sales orders, sales order review, amendment and reconciliation
Raising/reviewing & distributing sales Invoices - i.e. milestone, deliverable, WIP, T&M & service invoicing in multiple currencies
Raising invoice advance claims and trading sales
Using customer e-portals i.e. Exostar
Compliance with UK VAT rules and other Global Sales Taxes
Raising of credit notes in line with finance policies and delegated authority
Liaising with customers (internal and external) taking personal responsibility for the correction, resolution and close-down of issues
Actively supporting all invoices being paid to terms by insuring all invoices are correctly presented.
Cash forecasting
Your skills and qualifications:
Have good knowledge of Microsoft excel including how to complete basic formulas
such as sums, ifs, vlookups etc.
Have the ability to present large data sets to others in a concise, easy to understand
format.
An understanding of Output VAT and other Sales taxes and when these should/shouldn't be
applied.
An understanding of sales trading, IFRS15, revenue recognition and how this impacts the
sales ledger.
An understanding of what documentation is required to process different types of sales e.g
Goods despatch notes, export paperwork etc.
Ideally have experience of ERP systems within a finance environment.
Experience of SAP or Oracle would be highly advantageous.

An individual with a passion for accounting with excellent communication skills who is logical and meticulous with attention to detail. The desire and ability to learn and develop new skills and you must be able to embrace change with a 'can do' attitude is essential. In addition, you must be able to demonstrate a level of professionalism when interacting with managers and other finance staff.
