Our client, a large NSW government organisation, is seeking a highly experienced Senior IT Business Analyst to drive digital based solutions and therefore requires someone with strong subject matter expertise when defining, developing and executing customer-facing digital solutions. Ideally, our client is seeking a BA with experience in the transport or construction industry.
Key accountabilities
- Assess the efficiency and effectiveness of existing business operations to establish a base for developing improved structures, processes and systems
- Analyse workflow to create process and information models and identify areas of potential improvement
- Manage requirements through the entire project life cycle, providing input to project change requests and work with relevant stakeholders (business and internal to IT) to develop documents describing required change that accurately reflects stated issues
- Contribute to business cases that describe and justify the parameters of technology change initiatives
- Develop Business Requirements documents for projects within agreed policies, standards and architectures and obtain sign off from appropriate stakeholders
- Produce functional and non-functional specifications to communicate user requirements in technical terms
- Review functional specifications and solution concepts developed by vendors that describe the desired outcomes of system development, integration or enhancement projects within agreed policies, standards and architectures to ensure these solutions meet the business requirements
- Research user/customer need, create user journeys, scan market for opportunities emerging technologies and practices and support the development of test strategies, plans, scripts and assist with testing activities where applicable
Applicant requirements
- Extensive experience as a Senior IT BA within a large organisation
- Knowledge of or experience in the transport or construction industry
- Experience using BIM360, ProjectWise or GIS will be highly regarded
