This is a fantastic opportunity for a an audit and accounts Senior, Assistant Manager or Manager to join a highly reputable growing accountancy practice in Brighton who are offering a very progressive career opportunity. This position offers a 12 month pathway to Manager, potentially sooner based on experience and a very clear route to Directorship and then ownership thereafter. 30% Audit, 70 % Accounts & Tax.

Client Details

Our client is multi million pound, multi director partnership, looking for a progressive and ambitious senior, assistant manager or Manager to join them. They have a completely varied client base across the South East, encompassing SMEs through to larger Groups. Their clients go up to £50/60m in turnover and they provide a wide array of services including accounts, audit, tax, bookkeeping, VAT and payroll. They have a dynamic culture, are growing well and promote an excellent working environment for their staff.

Description

  • A varied role which will be approximately 1/3 audit, 2/3 accounts and tax work
  • Helping to manage and develop a young team of four trainee chartered accountants
  • Responsibility for helping to manage a portfolio of clients
  • Reporting directly to the directors in the corporate department
  • Responsibility for billing, recovery and productivity targets
  • Coaching and training in business development - our aim is to give you confidence in your ability to cross sell the firm's services to existing clients and help win new client work

Profile

  • ACA or ACCA qualification with a minimum of 2 years PQE
  • Recent audit experience up to review level across a number a sectors - we will require a written work log of your audit experience for the last 2 years covering sectors, client turnovers, levels of responsibility etc
  • Experience of accounting and corporation tax compliance work up to review level - be prepared to provide us with detailed examples of your skills and experience in this area.
  • A basic level of personal tax knowledge
  • Demonstrate how you can help manage a small team of trainees and support them in developing their skills
  • Effective communication with team members and clients
  • A strong work ethic and "can do" attitude
  • Show us that you are enthusiastic and ambitious - be prepared to explain what motivates you as a person and how you can help us to deliver a top-class client service
  • A desire to be involved in promoting our services to clients and business development work
