Grade 7: £32,817 - £40,322 p.a. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant College Accountant to join the newest Graduate College of the University of Oxford. Reuben College was established in May 2019 as Oxford University's 39thcollege, dedicated to graduate study with a focus on interdisciplinary research addressing 21st century challenges; building a community of people and practice that has diversity at the heart, for students, fellows and staff.

You will be joining the College in its formative years, working alongside the College Accountant you will be assisting in establishing and developing the finance team. You will contribute to the selection and implementation of systems used within the finance office. You will be working with members of the College to ensure strong financial understanding and College resources are used efficiently in achieving our mission. Working with the College Accountant on the monthly/quarterly/termly and annual financial reporting for each of the College operations, Societies and to the University of Oxford.

In the early years of the College you will also be expected to support the College with its day to day operational processes including purchasing, receivables and credit control, which will eventually be distributed between the finance team as it becomes established.

You should be a part-qualified accountant (e.g. CIMA, ACCA, CIPFA) with strong management accounting experience, preferably gained in higher education or similar, with experience of balance sheet reconciliation. You will have excellent excel skills with the ability to manipulate, analyse and report on large data sets. You will be able to organise your own workload, work to deadlines with a high degree of attention to detail. You will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. You will be able to communicate complex matters to others at all levels and be able to engage collaboratively with colleagues in Reuben College and across the University. You will be able to use your influencing skills to bring complex matters to a close.
