Senior Finance Analyst - Commissions

The Sr. Commissions Analyst will be a member of the International Commissions Finance Team within the FP&A organization. This team has WW responsibilities for the preparation and analysis of monthly Commission Payments as well as the administration, deployment and maintenance of Sales Commissions Plans for VMware sales representatives.

The Sr. Commissions Analyst will own end-to-end commissions process for dedicated APAC (Asia - Pacific ) Sales Regions closely partnering with regional APAC (Asia - Pacific ) Sales Operations & Sales Finance leaders to ensure financial acumen, accuracy and consistency in the payment calculation and execution of the Commission Plan. The role is responsible for management of compensation plans of over 400 sales representatives where flawless execution and very high standards of customer service is customary.

The right individual for this role is a numbers-driven financial professional, strategical thinker with extensive experience in tech industry, passion toward operational excellence, technical mindset and great attention to detail. Advanced business partnering, communication and presentation skills, developed capacity to lead pears towards common goals, proven ability maintain high performance in fast-paced environment are a must for this role.

This role will report to Senior Manager, Commissions Finance.

Job Role and Responsibility:

- Complete the day to day activities related to the assigned regions relating to the VMware sales compensation process
- Drive administration and implementation of financial and process controls to improve sales compensation process effectiveness
- Provide extensive business partner support to regional Sales Operations and Sales Finance to assist in and drive desired business results

- End-to-end owner of monthly Commissions payment process for assigned sales regions

- Provide training to other team members and on-board and mentor new hires

- Analyze sales compensation behavior to help business partners improve compensation strategies

- Manage special cases payments, analyze impact and propose resolution in accordance with VMWare policy and best practices

- Provide ad-hoc reporting support to business partners
- Coordinate compensation administration activities for the regions
- Continuous evaluation of processes and work towards their improvement
- Participate in integration of compensation processes related to mergers and acquisitions

- Partner with HR, Legal and Sales operations teams to provide support to sensitive compensation cases

Required Skills:

- Degree in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting or equivalent related work experience
- 5+ years previous work experience in Finance, Compensation, and/or sales administration

- Excellent English (verbal and written) communication skills
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel required (VBA knowledge is a plus)

- Self-starter with unquestionable integrity, who can take charge of complex tasks with minimal direction and develop new strategies and new ways of approaching business challenges independently

- Experience with SAP Callidus, SAP Business objects, IBM Cognos (Varicent), Tableau is a plus

- Great attention to detail and focus on producing a high-quality product
- Strong problem solving, organization, and process management skills

- Experience in researching, understanding, and clearly explaining complex transactions and business impact
- Strong initiative and desire to work in a team-oriented environment

- Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
