The client is a global retail brand that specialise in luxury, sustainable woman's fashion. The head office is based in North West London (Camden) and they are looking for a Senior Accounts Assistant to join the team on a permanent basis.

Client Details

The client are a family run SME that prides itself on its sustainability and effort to not only produce fantastic product, but have an impact on the world. They are based in North West London (Camden) and the finance team is made up of 3 people. They are looking for a Senior Accounts Assistant to join and report directly into the Finance Manager.


The successful Senior Accounts Assistant will:

  • Supervise and assist with Purchase Ledger.

    o Accurate recording of all supplier invoices and credit notes

    o Send all invoices to relevant manager for authorisation.

    o Preparing weekly supplier payment runs and issuing supplier remittance advices.

    o Reconciliation of all Purchase Ledger accounts to statements on a monthly basis.

    o Dealing with queries from a range of suppliers.

    o Set up new supplier accounts.

  • Sole responsibility for the Wholesale Sales Ledger

    o Inputting sales invoices on accounting ledger and on a separate Wholesale Ledger.

    o Processing all customer receipts on both ledgers and ensuring agreement between both ledgers.

    o Credit control.

  • Additional Responsibilities

    o Processing monthly and weekly journals.

    o Monthly bank reconciliations and other reconciliations.

    o Reconciling cash and credit cards banked to Sales recorded for all Retail outlets.

    o Processing employee expense claims.

    o Assisting the Finance Manager with month end reporting.

    o Assist the Finance Manager with budget and year end tasks.

    o Quarterly VAT return.

    o Monthly Intrastat return.

    o Ad-hoc duties as and when required/cover for Junior Accounts Assistant role.


The successful Senior Accounts Assistant will:

  • Have previous experience managing both the Purchase and Sales ledgers
  • Have previous experience assisting with the month-end production of the Management Accounts
  • Previous experience in the retail industry (extremely desirable, however not essential)
  • Be confident and well-presented
  • Willing to "roll-up their sleeves" and really get stuck-in to the role
  • Ability to prove a keen passion for sustainability
  • Previous experience using the system Sage 50 (desirable, not essential)
  • Brilliant written and verbal communication skills
