Senior Management Accountant - Functions
Are you looking for new challenge? A vacancy has arisen within the Air Sector, Europe & International (E&I) Functional Cost Base Team for a Senior Management Accountant supporting the Business Partner for Project Management, Quality and Support Functions at our site in Warton.
As a Senior Management Accountant, you will be reporting to the Senior Finance Manager Functions. This role involves support to the senior finance manager to develop relationships with functional directors and working with functional directors to deliver affordable budgets across 5-year plan and provide financial support to meet functional strategies.
This role will provide you with a unique opportunity to progress, develop and build on your core finance experience. This role is very diverse and involves liaison with Finance and non-Finance Professionals and Managers within the Project Management, Quality and Support Functions, ensuring Financial targets are understood and working to deliver up to date, accurate data to support internal and external stakeholders.
Your main responsibilities as a Senior Management Accountant will involve:
Supporting Finance Business Partner by providing analysis and insight, linking financial information to business & functional strategies within E&I
Introducing effective business acumen mind set within the function's strategy
Contributing towards changes to ensure that key E&I objectives and targets are met
Acting as a financial advisor - offering general financial support to commercial decision makers
Working with cost base hub to understand headcount, costs and utilisation variances to budget / forecast and support function to understand impact of variances and ensure action is taken
Supporting the functions to produce realistic forecasts and provide commentary for E&I Reporting team / MC to articulate movements to budget / previous forecast
Supporting the submission of the 5-year IBP plan for Project Management, Quality and Support Functions, in particular a robust supply solution signed off by functional director
Ensuring Compliance at all times with the Operational Framework, Finance Policy Manual (FPM) and process and procedures
Planning and executing any transformational activities impacting E&I Cost Base functions i.e. Cost Base Dashboard
Your skills and qualifications as a Senior Management Accountant:
Qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA
Proficient in using Microsoft products including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Reporting, forecasting and budgeting knowledge
People management skills
Cost base experience
Experience of a range of finance roles
Experience of wider BAE Systems or other industries
