About the role

We’re looking to recruit a Plant Manager to join our team in Sevilla, Spain!

The Plant Manager will create a site/manufacturing plan aligned with the technology strategy. Identify medium and the long terms objectives for the site in order to minimize the manufacturing costs, Identify niches for the plant and improvements areas. Set plans and projects to reach objectives, whilst providing leadership to the local management team. The Plant Manager shall adhere to all the ISO 14000 norms, guidelines and actively promote an environmental safeguard attitude within his/her department

Key responsibilities

  • Identify metrics to measure and improve the manufacturing performance
  • Review performance and analyse special causes and sources of variations
  • Identify action plans to eliminate special causes and sources of variations in agreement with Business Development and Technical Directors
  • Set monthly goals coherently with the action plans
  • Reports out the manufacturing performance to Management
  • Finance Management Process. Reliable budget and excellence in financial performance
  • Forecast resources required to meet short- and medium-term business needs
  • Assign resources to Production and Warehouse to meet the customer needs
  • Manage variances between resources availability and needs (building, people and gear) by adding additional resources required or by limiting the surplus.
  • Review actual financial performance, compare it with forecast and identify corrective actions
  • Approve expenses according to forecast and business requirements
  • Analyse and identify actions to improve Kerry’s financial performance
  • Team development and team management.
  • Coordinate the recruitment of new personnel (agreed and authorized by the Managing Director) and maintain high-calibre staff appropriate to business circumstances. Hire people that fit into the company culture.
  • Ensure that a clear Succession Plan is in place. Support each team member in his/her career evolution. Identify and develop employees to become the future Managers.
  • Provide team leadership by planning, organizing, assigning objectives and task according to the business needs and employees’ capabilities.
  • Coach lead and mentor with a positive attitude.
  • Have a complete understanding of the roles and responsibilities of each job within the team and the functional deliverables and objectives.
  • Work with HR to create and periodically update all the Job Descriptions within the department.
  • Foster increased levels of delegations to all team members. Foster experimentation and calculated risk taking.
  • Develop Personal Development Processes for all team members; evaluate and schedule appropriate training programs; monitor team members development
  • Utilize established tools to gain assurance that continuous improvement is achieved, and department objectives can be met.
  • Provide the team all the resources needed to better perform their job.
  • Constantly communicate to all team members all the necessary general and specific information needed.

Qualifications and skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent, ideally in Food Technology; Food Engineering; Agricultural Science; Chemistry.
  • Experience in a Manufacturing environment, preferably in a related business.
  • Leadership and Management skills (coach, lead, motivate)

  • Communication skills (communicate clearly, concisely, effectively in Local and English language – written and oral)

  • Experience with SAP is a distinct advantage
