My client is a large, FTSE listed pharmaceutical brand in the North Middlesex region.

Description

The R&D External Project Expense (EPE) Central Team is the principal link between Finance and clinical operations personnel running Pharma R&D's Early & Late Stage clinical trials (phases I-IV). Analysts support a variety of study and project managers, helping them to create and maintain an appropriate clinical budget and forecast, as well as ensuring that actuals are correctly accounted for.

Team members need to be comfortable working independently, developing a customer-focused relationship with clients, yet having the confidence and self-assurance to challenge assumptions, to ensure that forecasting is accurate, and that appropriate accounting practice is followed. Analysts are expected to be the expert on the financial aspects of their studies, answering questions from study managers, project managers and finance directors. As well as the ongoing day-to-day aspects of the role, analysts are empowered and expected to identify and drive continuous improvement to study support processes, providing the opportunity to make a positive difference in both the financial and clinical areas.

In this role you will provide support to Pharma R&D clients and provide subject matter expertise in the area of Clinical Project Expense and clinical study support, including budgeting, forecasting, accounting and other key financial processes.

You will be responsible for financial support for external resources across R&D clinical studies and will support 25+ clinical operations / scientific customers, managing a mixture of clinical spend. Outputs include providing analytical support and managing processes relative to annual budgets and periodic forecasts across Pharma R&D. You will also manage financial processes to deliver transparent, assumption-driven analytical expertise to support effectively clinical spends. As a senior analyst you will be accountable for identifying and communicating finance practices, issues and opportunities to clinical operations / scientific customers. There will be multiple opportunities for project work and process improvement.

Profile

The sucessful candidate will have:

- Recognized Finance Qualification

- Financial analysis experience

- Demonstrated excellence with budgeting, forecasting.

- Strong Excel skills, and ability to work with a range of financial systems.

- Ability to demonstrate drive and initiative, working independently.

- Experience in working in a diverse team environment with multiple stakeholders and working to tight deadlines.

- Demonstrated flexibility to work across multiple departmental / functional areas and on multiple projects

Preferred Qualifications:

Big 4 Experience preferred.

Prior clinical R&D experience preferred.

Prior experience with Pharmaceutical industry / project work

Strong Hyperion skills preferred.

Superior interpersonal and communication skills.

Strong influencing and relationship-building skills.

Prior clinical exposure considered an advantage.

Job Offer

An interim 10 month contract paying in the range of £250-£280. The contract has the potential to extend, or transfer into another position within the organisation.
