We are looking for an Academies Finance Manager to join our friendly Trust team. The post offers 0.6 flexible/home working with a school base in one of our 8 Buckinghamshire schools to be agreed with the successful candidate.

Salary Type: Bucks pay

Salary details: GLT Range 7:36-40 £33,531 to £37,294 (FTE) (Actual £20,118 to £22,376) Holiday entitlement: 25-30 days (depending on length of service) plus public holidays

Contract type: Permanent

Hours: Part time (0.6FTE) flexible to align with finance team requirement

About the role

The role will involve providing oversight of financial administration to GLT member schools, ensuring adherence to GLT Financial Procedures and ESFA legislation. You will work with Headteachers, Governors and School Business Managers (SBMs) to prepare short and long-term budget forecasts, ensuring each school's financial stability.
  • You will support local finance staff in the monitoring of school budgets and advise on any potential variances and implications. You will be able to make recommendations on possible solutions.
  • You may support as required any schools in the process of joining GLT, in respect of training and guidance in finance systems used by the Trust.
  • You will also have the opportunity to further develop the GLT SBM network, delivering termly meetings to include the presentation of relevant content.
  • You will be a pivotal central team member providing advice and support for GLT school finance staff under the direction of the Chief Finance Officer.
  • You will assist school finance staff in the budgeting and financial reporting process and continue the development of our effective Trust wide finance team.
  • You will work closely with the Chief Finance Officer (CFO) and GLT Business Manager to implement and maintain effective financial processes, robust internal control and sound financial management across the Trust.
