Assurance Advisor (multiple positions)
  • $101,120 - $122,348 (Plus Superannuation)
  • Fixed term / 3 years
  • Usual hours of work: Full Time (flexibility may be available)
  • Usual work location: 1 Spring Street, Melbourne (flexibility may be available)

The position of Assurance Advisor forms a part of the Delivery Centre branch within Corporate Services Group. The Delivery Centre has been established to improve performance in delivering the department's projects on time, on budget. This is to be achieved through a variety of strategies including identifying best-practice approaches to project and program delivery within the department, developing associated guidance and tools to support a consistent approach across the department, and establishing robust monitoring and reporting capabilities on departmental performance in project and program delivery.

The Assurance Advisor reports to the Assurance & Advisory Manager, and will leverage department-wide project and program information to provide advice and assurance to relevant Department of Jobs Precincts and Regions stakeholders and decision makers including but not limited to departmental executives, deputy secretaries and the Secretary.

This position is responsible for supporting the delivery of a range of DJPR programs and projects, with an emphasis on ensuring the outcomes of these programs and projects enhance and grow economic and community development. The position works closely with DJPR delivery groups, the Program Centre and key internal and external stakeholders, particularly central agencies, to ensure DJPR investments deliver their expected outcomes.

Reporting to the Manager Assurance & Advisory, the key accountabilities of the role will include:
  • Oversee a suite of DJPR programs including Priority Initiatives with a significant focus on accountability for the management of funds and delivery of program outcomes.
  • Provide specialist support and advice to Government and stakeholder advisory bodies and contribute expertise and knowledge to strategic planning and decision-making processes as required.
  • Provide specialist support and advice to program managers and contribute expertise and knowledge to strategic planning and decision-making processes associated with project/program delivery as required.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting on delivery implementation and impact.
  • Actively contribute to the identification, development and resolution of policy, procedural and financial issues in relation to allocated DJPR project portfolio in collaboration with delivery teams and other relevant agencies and stakeholders.
