The Commercial Finance Analyst will report into the Commercial Finance Manager, providing support to the wider Finance team, Commercial Services and wider Operational teams across the key WPP contracts currently in place and future contracts as they are negotiated and agreed.

Responsible for provision of analytical analysis and management information ensuring the accuracy in the application of existing complex commercial contracts and assisting in the creation of new contracts across the global reach of WPP.

WPP has major IBM deals for Infrastructure, Network and End User along with associated support, which require diligent financial management, control, and compliance management. This role is fundamental to the support of these contracts. Additional support will also be required on other contracts WPP has with suppliers such as Microsoft, Vodafone and others.

What you'll be doing:
  • Controlling and advising on project cost across our businesses. This is currently performed by the businesses themselves however this activity is being centralized and will be a key part of this new role.
  • Reviewing of project business cases (PWOs) to ensure contractual adherence, cost management and value for money.
  • Developing & using insightful analysis to identify business opportunities for the division, identifying and quantifying gaps in processes. Driving improvement in end-to-end processes to mitigate issues
  • Managing financial month end between external supplier and internal stakeholders, including analysis and control of variable monthly spend, development and implementation of processes and tools.
  • Assessing new pricing and rates provided by suppliers and bench marking these against the market to ensure value for money.
  • Providing consistently high standard of data analysis through understanding the current situation or issue, identifying a solution, recommending options for improvement
  • Presenting data and insight clearly and concisely to stakeholders of all levels. Illustrate current performance and areas for improvement
  • Working with the WPP businesses and stakeholders to ensure that the financial processes are aligned between the operating company obligations and supplier contracts
  • Creating templates and documents to communicate financial implications to internal stakeholders
  • Performing ad-hoc analysis to support and administer commercial contracts
  • Supporting the Commercial Finance Manager in developing logical and justifiable methods of cost allocation from potentially incomplete data sets.

What you'll need:
  • Part Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
  • Finance experience within an IT / Technology / Procurement environment
  • Commercial Finance experience would be an advantage.
  • Ability to work across different functions including: Operational, Commercial and Finance
  • Understanding of multi-location and multi-currency business implications and an ability to problem solve for challenging markets
  • Confident with complex data and non-financial concepts
  • Management reporting with recognized strong attention to detail
  • Ability to adapt communication skills across different stakeholders/audiences
  • Strong organisational and prioritization skills
  • Collaborative approach with focus on both business and client needs
  • High level reporting skills
  • Ability to build excellent business relationships, based on trust and mutual respect
