About the role:
As the successful applicant, you will be an integral part of the Risk and Assurance Division. Reporting to the Continuous Auditing Manager, you will perform financial and operational continuous audit programs. Continuous Auditing provides on-going assurance on the effectiveness of key controls, enabling more timely insight into risks and issues than traditional audits. Your role will also require you to contribute to the design and development of business improvement projects.

Your duties will include:
  • Independently plan, perform and report on financial and operational continuous audit programs.
  • Deliver audit findings and recommendations to stakeholders within agreed budgets and timeframes.
  • Establish and maintain productive and collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Within a small team environment, adopt and maintain innovative thinking and develop a strong understanding of clients' needs to improve service delivery.
  • Participate in and, as appropriate, lead in the design and development of business improvement projects.

As the successful applicant, you will have:
  • Understanding of Auditing Standards, legislative and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience working within small teams as well as the ability to prioritise competing work demands.
  • Certified Internal Auditor® (CIA) certification or equivalent - preferable.
  • At least 3 years of internal audit experience in business process control reviews - preferable.

Requirements and relevant information:
  • Position location - Victoria Police Centre. 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.
  • Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
  • The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
