Finance Business Partner - Tytan
Would you like to work in Finance supporting exciting projects within Air? We currently have a vacancy for a Finance Business Partner - Tytan at our site in Warton.
As a Finance Business Partner - Tytan, you will be part of BAES Systems Air Sector, a through-life business which delivers advanced military air capability both to our UK and many overseas customers. Air E&I (Europe & International) is responsible for the delivery of our European & International commitments for Typhoon, Tornado and Hawk, including production of aircraft, aircraft capability upgrades, and provision of through life support.
This role will provide you with the opportunity to support teams across the Europe and International portfolio, which covers a variety of interesting contracts, ranging in size, complexity and value. You will be part of an Integrated Project Team, working alongside Commercial, Project Management and in some cases Operations and Procurement; therefore, your ability to work cross-functionally is vital.
Your main responsibilities as a Finance Business Partner - Tytan will involve:
Supporting the delivery of all internal and external targets (financial and non-financial) as required
Supporting line leaders with preparing Budgets, Forecasts and Business Plans including assumptions, risks and opportunities and variance analysis
Engaging cross functionally, and with Project Managers and Budget Holders, to drive business improvements that drives positive financial outcomes
Providing inputs to the monthly balance sheet process and ensuring actions are driven to conclusion
Supporting the business in the quarterly contract review process including challenge of estimates and involvement in risk management process
Providing business partner support to CAMs/ budget holders and non-finance functions including Project Management and Commercial
Ensuring robust financial controls are in place and accounting policies are always adhered to
Completing ad-hoc tasks including support to new business activity, rates scenarios and financial modelling
Focussing on maintaining and improving E&I financial controls through;
Understanding Accounting Standards and their application to the Project(s) you are working on Ensuring all financial procedures and controls are applied as required; and supporting non finance functions on their application
Supporting the business with Internal and External Audit activity
Proactively seeking to improve local processes and working practices to drive efficiencies across the team and wider business
Your skills and qualifications:
Essential
CIMA, ACA or ACCA - Part Qualified
Preferably already working as a Finance Business Partner in manufacturing or service-based industry
Advanced Excel skills
Financial exposure
Desirable
Foreign currency, and bids and rates and contract management
Presenting skills and influencing stakeholders
Evidence of continuous improvement projects

Salary: £38,498
