Job Description
The Perseus Group is seeking a qualified Senior Financial Accountant reporting to the Finance Director for the Constellation Real Estate Group ("CREG") vertical. The Senior Financial Accountant will be responsible for the accounts payable function and cost management across the CREG portfolio, including 15+ business units.

The Senior Financial Accountant will maintain and improve accounts payable proceses, ensure consistent and accurate expense coding and recognition, and support the business unit finance teams with reliable and insightful analysis. The successful candidate will have excellent communication, business, and analytical skills. This individual is efficient, resourceful, and has the ability and willingness to maintain confidentiality.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The following are the essential duties and responsibilities; other duties may be assigned:
  • Ensure proper approvals for vendor invoices
  • Ensure proper expense coding and recognition of expenses (including prepaid deferrals, asset capitalization, guidance to business units on accruals/reversals)
  • Manage expense allocations across CREG
  • Expense trending analysis and reporting
  • Accounts payable integration and cost management oversight for new acquisitions
  • Review of AP aging reports; assist business units in addressing issues in vendor payments
  • Reconcile the AP subledgers to general ledgers for all CREG BUs
  • Assist in reconciliation of payables related accounts (e.g., cash, AP, prepaid, fixed assets, accrued liabilities)
  • Prepare intercompany journals and perform inter-company reconciliation
  • Identify and implement process improvements across AP function to increase efficiency and effectiveness
  • Undertake special projects and ad hoc analysis as needed

Education and/or Experience
  • Master's degree in Accounting / Finance or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years of accounting experience.
  • Familiarity with accounting and corporate finance principles and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of GAAP & IFRS is a plus.
  • Strong numeracy and analytical skills.
  • Good problem-solving and time management skills.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.

Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Language Skills
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business processes and technical procedures. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, vendors, colleagues, and the general public.

Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains Database software; Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Microsoft Outlook Internet software; Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet software, and Microsoft Office Word Processing software.
