Senior Management Accountant - Project

We currently have vacancies for Senior Management Accountants within the Dreadnought team at our site in Barrow-In-Furness.

This role will provide you with the unique opportunity to support a first of class Submarine programme and the development of a key UK defence priority. Career development is supported and encouraged - training and access to broader BAE network and resources will be made available. The roles are visible and will offer exposure to senior personnel within the Submarines business, helping the successful candidate establish their profile within the organisation.

Your main responsibilities will involve:

Provide financial support to pricing activities, working cross functionally to secure internal approval and timely contracting with UK MOD

Provide financial support to the business, producing management reports to the requirements and deadlines of both internal and external customers and incorporating sound financial controls.

Maintaining data integrity and liaise with other functions to achieve streamlined integrated processes which meet overall business objectives.

Providing challenge into cross-functional teams to ensure robust financial information is prepared that is capable of withstanding scrutiny.

Effectively operate financial systems and processes ensuring they are fit for purpose and recommend improvements where required.

Provide support to customers, ensuring prompt resolution of issues.

Provide support to the Internal and External Audit process as required.

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential:

CIMA/ACA/ACCA qualified with experience of financial accounting

Highly analytical with strong attention to detail

Pro-active and driven with excellent communication skills

Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel - ability to manipulate high volumes of data

Experience of working as a business partner

Able to reliably deliver against fixed deadlines

Desirable:

Previous experience working in a customer facing role

In this role you must have the ability to work well with others as well as independently. You will have confidence and gravitas and be able to effectively challenge and influence others. An understanding of financial accounting is integral to being successful in this role.

Your communication skills will be excellent and you possess the ability to connect and develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

The nature of this role can mean workload fluctuates. Candidates will need to be comfortable dealing with and adjusting to a variable workload.

Salary: £40 000 + Commensurate with experience
