As part of our EY - Finance Consulting Team, you will help clients in their Business Transition assignments from functional perspective. This includes working along with the clients to setup framework for a Global Business Services (GBS) or Shared Services Centre (SSC). Additionally, this role demands working knowledge around Performance Improvement initiatives with techno-functional aptitude.

The opportunity:

To work for global business functions for Global Business Setup and Shared Services Centre Setup including process assessments and optimization of finance functions like RTR, PTP, OTC and FP&A domains.

Your key responsibilities:

  • As Finance GBS consultants you will support EY account team to help clients in their Business Transition assignments from functional perspective.
  • Supporting finance activities like account reconciliations, journals postings, transaction matching, variance analysis, intercompany process and fixed assets accounting
  • Providing insights on accounting and financial reporting
  • Supporting activities like financial consolidation, cost allocation, finance planning and budgeting and financial close process for clients
  • Provide analyst support to transition projects, including business requirement gathering, process assessment, process mapping and operationalize new business process
  • Speak credibly and confidently about our solution and how it can be used to solve business process issues
  • Supporting designing of Chart of accounts (CoA) for business functions
  • Bring diverse and thought-provoking perspectives, including relevant market trends, new and innovative ideas from your experience and EY points of view to explore solutions
  • Supporting IFRS implementation assignments for recently implemented accounting regulation changes for IFRS 9, 15 or 16 (good to have)
  • Providing insights on ledger/sub-ledger systems and technical know-how of SAP ERP/HANA, Oracle (good to have)
  • Skills and attributes for success:

  • Hands-on experience in business process transition assignments and related activities
  • Strong Data analytics and interpretation skills
  • English language proficiency (verbal and written)
  • Ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences
  • Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations
  • You must be a team player open to travel (Domestic & International)
  • To qualify for the role you must have:

  • 4+ years of relevant experience in the area of Finance and Accounting especially some experience transitions of F&A processes, Business Finance Transformation or GBS / SSC Setup
  • Working knowledge in finance functions (at least two domains) – Record to report (RTR), Procure to pay (PTP), Order to cash (OTC) or Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A)
  • Ability to provide accounting advice and guidance on various process transition related topics
  • MBA (Finance) or Master degree in Finance and Accounting
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Ideally, you’ll also have:

  • Consulting experience, problem-solving and project coordination skills
  • Translate business requirements to technical language and model (good to have)
  • Experience in Chart of accounts (CoA) design
