Your field of responsibility       

The role forms an integral part of the Markets Controlling team of APAC PB Finance. The role has an overall responsibility for the finance topics relating to Credit Suisse’s Private Banking businesses in North Asia. The role is key in partnering with senior management and key partners of the business on topics ranging from day to day running of PB NA Controlling team, acting as trusted finance partner to head of PB NA, NA EXCO, sales meeting, setup of onshore presence in alignment with strategic initiatives of APAC division, specifically this will include but not limited to the setup of PB Finance function in China Onshore and other onshore locations, performance management, planning and budgets, reporting/analysis and controls, key business initiatives and MIS requirements. You will be required to work collaboratively with other members of the APAC PB Finance team on all finance topics.

The role is based in Hong Kong. He/she will report to the Head of PB Finance APAC. Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead PB Finance North Asia Market Controlling team in providing financial advisory and CFO related support to PB North Asia business and steer profitability.
  • Act as trusted finance partner and key contact to the business on all finance matters and represent finance in management meetings and committees including PB North Asia ExCo, PB North Asia Product & Sales, AUM Steering Committee.
  • Represent CFO in key business initiatives in an advisory or leadership capacity, specifically in the NA onshore initiatives including China onshore setup.
  • Collaborate closely with other CFO functions and other supporting functions to ensure financial reporting, management reporting and AUM reporting are set up accurately.
  • Partner with business development team in financial modelling and business case.
  • Undertake dedicated analysis to understand business drivers, key trends and develop strategies and impactful recommendations to address.
  • Undertake ad-hoc deal profitability analysis and collaborate closely with PB front office business and key product partners.
  • Work with the business to define important metric framework and drive the definition, communication and implementation.
  • Lead regional PB KPI Financial Framework
  • Improve sales steering and strategy tracking.
  • Seek to provide front to back controls and accounting setup coordinating with COO and finance peers/ colleagues
  • Provide inputs on strategies in driving revenue including pricing and margin analysis.
  • Supervise the NA market controllers, review and ensure compliance of risk and controls including SOX processes and signoff.
  • Develop team members to realize their respective potentials by promoting career growth and maintain stability with contingency plan.

Your skills and experience

Requirements

  • Relevant prior experience (15 to 20 years) in CFO functions at managerial level or similar capacity in a global banking environment with specific experience in Private banking as added advantage.
  • Business modelling and financial analysis for PB business with knowledge and experience in new setup in China will be an advantage.
  • Outstanding analytics and accounting competency to provide financial related support to standalone location and key partners in the location and region.
  • Experience in supporting a front office business in a finance business partner/controlling capacity.
  • Outstanding leadership skills and proven ability to partner with the business.
  • Proficient in communication skills, able to operate with senior executives.
  • Outstanding analytical skills and strategic problem solving skills.
  • Academic Degree and professional qualifications in a relevant area e.g. CPA, CFA or other Finance functions.
  • Proficient in Chinese (Mandarin)
  • A positive can do attitude!
