Description

As the Accounts Payable Supervisor you will be responsible for the following:

  • Responsible for the Client and Office payment functions
  • Review and approve vendor payments and Chrome River expenses for the weekly processing runs and ad hoc payments as required
  • Manage Counsel payments, company Barclaycard and key supplier relationships
  • Ensure daily reports, checks and reconciliations are completed
  • Check and verify the monthly bank reconciliations for the client and office accounts
  • Review and manage the Client account balances
  • Approve and transmit Client/Office account payments using Coutts and Barclays banking systems
  • Manage and develop the accounts payable team to ensure they are appropriately trained and supported to develop to their full potential.
  • Assisting in the production and submission of VAT returns for the LLP and Properties company
  • Support day to day accounting for the Properties company
  • Completion of business questionnaires and data for National Statistics
  • Review, improve and document the accounting systems internal controls and processes
  • Ensure finance policies and best practice principles are adhered to throughout the Accounts function
  • Organise team meetings, holiday and absence management and cover within the Accounts team
  • Responsibility for SRA, AML and ABC compliance by the Accounts team and ensuring all staff are fully trained
  • Other ad hoc projects as required

Profile

To be considered for the role of Accounts Payable Supervisor, you must have the following:

  • Previous work within a law firm and ideally experience of working with client money
  • Experience within a Partnership is essential, proven ability to win the confidence and respect of Partners, colleagues and all levels of staff throughout an organisation
  • Proven staff management skills and a pro-active approach to management and mentoring, able to work well with others even under pressure
  • A team player who is well organised, has an excellent attention to detail and recognises the importance of completing work to a very high standard
  • Experience of Elite would be advantageous (particularly 3E)
  • Proactive in identifying opportunities, with the energy and enthusiasm to manage new initiatives, challenge the norm and strive towards excellence and innovation

Job Offer

£40,000 - £45,000 + excellent benefits
