Pertemps Scotland Ltd are working with our client in Glasgow to recruit for Corporate Accountant on a temporary basis for 3 - 6 Months.The role is full time and Day Rate is £150 - £200.Due to current circumstances the role will be working from home.As an Accountant within the Corporate Team you will report to the Corporate Accountancy Team Leader and assist in carrying out the functions of the team to ensure the overall council objectives are achieved.You will be expected to demonstrate and complete the following responsibilities and activities:Manage the organisations asset register ensuring assets are recorded in compliance with the Accounting Code of Practice and IFRS requirementsPrepare and monitor the capital budget for the council, liaising with services and providing advice on capital bids and projectsManage the accounts payable team ensuring invoices are processed promptly and provide support as requiredProvide management information and accounting support on capital and accounts payable mattersMonitor and keep abreast of policy, legislative and accounting developments and advise on implications as appropriateTake a lead role in supporting the successful delivery of the organisation statutory financial accountsCo-ordination and completion of other key statutory returns e.g. Capital POBE/ LFR/Assets returnsProvide technical support to other members of the team and council officersProvide information to external and internal auditors as requiredWork with others, both internal and external to the organisation, to provide financial information which supports service improvement and changeProvide accountancy support to the organisation in its City Region DealEssential Skills:CCAB / CIMA QualifiedProven experience in a similar role within a financial environmentFamiliar with financial management systemsCompetent in developing and maintaining complex spreadsheetsExperience of reporting information to financial and non-financial managersFamiliar with relevant Accounting Standards and legislative requirementsLeadership skills and the ability to motivate othersEvidence of producing high quality information to assist decision makingAbility to work flexibly to meet tight deadlines and deal with conflicting prioritiesEffective communications skillsSelf-motivated and willingness to contribute fully to the objectives of the team
