Our client have an urgent requirement for a Chief Accountant/Plant Controller

With split responsibilities, reporting to Managing Director. The job holder carries out the functions and responsibilities of Chief Accountant/Plant Controller and is part of the local senior management team.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Managing Director, the job holder will have responsibility for the daily management of the Financial & Accounting function of the business, cost planning, reporting, budgeting and investment in the plant, incorporating -
  • Preparation of Management and Financial accounts including monthly and Statutory accounts
  • Tax compliance, Payables / Receivables management, IT and Treasury Management and Internal controls.
  • Stock valuation, monitoring and control
  • Ensuring compliance with Regulation and Legislation.
  • Engaging & managing all aspects of audits, both internal and external
  • Management and supervision of finance/administration team
  • Group reporting of financial and statistical data to strict deadlines
  • Cost improvement initiatives in conjunction with management
  • Risk Analysis management and reporting via risk management tool.
  • Detailed Plant Budgeting for all plant activities
  • Cost planning by area, with detailed budget preparation
  • Calculation of Standard Costs, using SAP
  • Budget analysis and variance analysis
  • Monitoring and reporting of costs as required, weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc
  • Forecasting and updating of costings and budgets
  • Ongoing monitoring and reporting against budget and targets
  • Calculation and reporting of plant performance against KPIs, and Continuous Improvement Targets
  • Investment and improvement costing and evaluation
  • Project cost management and control
  • Promoting and informing all on key cost issues/KPIs, and training and raising awareness regarding plant efficiency and performance
  • Promoting and encouraging improvements in plant operations
  • Pro-active support and assistance to plant personnel in investigation of alternate improvements to plant, determining cost -benefits
  • Provision of information and reports as needed to plant executives
  • Financial trainings within the company to spread financial know how across departments with a special focus on Operations
  • Compile Business plans & evaluate financial impact, present to management including recommendation for preferred option

Experience required:
5+ years Financial Control experience
Experience working within an industrial concern
Professional Accounting qualification ACCA/CIMA/ACA/CPA

Functional Knowledge:
Excellent knowledge of financial statements, budgeting, accounting and controlling
Business Plan preparation
Investment calculation

IT Skills:

SAP & MS Office
