Our partner is a well-known and respected international charity working on equality and rights. They are seeking a Finance and Grants Manager, supporting with new proposal development and submissions, and grants compliance, monitoring and reporting.
Responsibilities
Programmes budget management, working as a finance business partner with the programmes team to support with new proposal development and submissions; ensure that budget holders understand any variances; and that restricted and unrestricted income, and match funding requirements are strictly monitored.Lead in preparing grants reports for donors, and for preparing and delivering donor audits.Support the Head of Finance in developing and reviewing internal controls, policies and procedures, and ensuring that these are understood and applied.Undertaking risk assessments, and undertaking financial and risk monitoring visits to ensure effective financial management.Develop the capacity of staff to ensure grant management and financial compliance requirements are understood and adhered to. Key Requirements
Qualified or part-qualified accountant with a strong technical background and understanding and experience of the compliance, management and reporting requirements of institutional donors, including DfID, EU, and USAID.Experience of charity SORP, and experience of working in a multi-country, multi-currency environment.Experience in strengthening internal controls, and in building the capacity of colleagues, both in the UK and internationally.Strong financial analysis, management accounting and reporting.Strong IT and systems skills, including advanced Excel skills.Ability to build effective working relationships with finance and non-finance staff, both in the UK and overseas. Strong cultural awareness. They anticipate that the successful individual will be home-based for the duration of the contract; and, when the UK government guidelines change and it is permissible to return to work, they will be flexible on the work arrangements.
