Senior Manager / Director, Corporate Development and Strategy - Sydney

We are currently seeking to recruit a Senior Manager / Associate Director (Vice President equivalent) for the Corporate Development & Strategy team of Macquarie Bank's Banking and Financial Services Group (BFS).

Key Responsibilities of the team include:

• originating and executing acquisitions and disposals, ranging from earlier stage FinTech companies, through to large scale businesses
• overseeing BFS' portfolio of strategic equity investments
• originating and executing alliance and other partnership opportunities
• assisting in defining and driving the overall strategy for BFS, working closely across all BFS business divisions
• framing the market and strategic context for BFS, including the competitive environment
• bringing innovation to the business by way of products, processes and technology

Through the above responsibilities, you will often be dealing directly with, and have access to, Divisional Heads and other senior executives across the various business lines within BFS. This exposure to senior leaders, coupled with the experience you will gain as a member of the Corporate Development & Strategy team, will provide a robust foundation which can open up broader potential career opportunities within BFS.

About you

To be successful, you will have extensive experience in Investment Banking, Professional Services, Management Consulting or a similar role within a Corporate environment.

Furthermore, you will be able to demonstrate the ability to:

• contribute to the origination and development of our deal pipeline
• conduct strategic assessment and detailed analysis of opportunities as they arise
• lead transaction projects and teams for acquisitions and divestments
• lead strategy/strategic review projects (knowledge of strategy frameworks is desirable)
• identify and pursue enterprise relationships, alliance and other partnership opportunities - engage with potential clients and where relationships have gained traction, drive internal processes to ensure speed of execution
• drive engagement across internal and external stakeholders, project lead and encourage collaboration and commitment to the achievement and delivery of project goals

• superior interpersonal and relationship building skills in order to build strong relationships with stakeholders across all levels
• proven execution/outcome skills
• the ability to think strategically about businesses and market opportunities
• inspire internal clients, structuring and tailoring opportunities to align with Group strategic objectives
