1. Plan and organize the work of subordinates so that the collection, updating and analysis of data/information are done on a timely basis.

2. Monitor the proper application of accounting/financial procedures by subordinates to ensure relevant compliance and make sure that accounting/financial systems are well adhered to.

3. Propose and develop appropriate policies and procedures in own area, managing development projects as required in order to support the ongoing improvement of the accounting/financial function.

4. Process ledger and booking advanced entries according to stated procedures so that all transactions are recorded in a timely and accurate manner.

5. Analyze ledgers and accounts to allow the reconciliation of financial data according to stated schedules so that the company remains aware of its financial position on an ongoing basis and statutory reports can be produced within legislative time limits.

6. Supervise and make sure all transactions and reports are processed according to internal procedures and guidelines so that the company fulfils all legislative reporting requirements.

7. Identify, investigate and rectify routine errors and discrepancies in data and reports so that all financial data can be relied on.

8. Prepares reports from statistical and financial information according to stated schedules so that all information is available for review in a timely manner.

9. Prepare ad hoc reports as requested in order to support management in decision-making.

10. Manage medium-sized projects, provide conducive feedback and ensure objectives are achieved in order to improve accounting/financial activities.

11. Maintain a good knowledge and understanding of the external legislative accounting/financial framework and ensure compliance of department's activities/work.

12. Develop good relationships with internal customers, suppliers and agencies (internal and external) so as to ensure prompt resolution of issues and provide high service level.

13. Provide technical supervision, evaluate and coach junior staff carrying out assigned tasks to contribute to their development
