Pertemps Scotland Ltd are working with our client in Glasgow to recruit for Corporate Accountant on a temporary basis for 3 - 6 Months.

The role is full time and Day Rate is £150 - £200. Due to current circumstances the role will be working from home.

As an Accountant within the Corporate Team you will report to the Corporate Accountancy Team Leader and assist in carrying out the functions of the team to ensure the overall council objectives are achieved.

You will be expected to demonstrate and complete the following responsibilities and activities: Manage the organisations asset register ensuring assets are recorded in compliance with the Accounting Code of Practice and IFRS requirements Prepare and monitor the capital budget for the council, liaising with services and providing advice on capital bids and projects Manage the accounts payable team ensuring invoices are processed promptly and provide support as required Provide management information and accounting support on capital and accounts payable matters Monitor and keep abreast of policy, legislative and accounting developments and advise on implications as appropriate Take a lead role in supporting the successful delivery of the organisation statutory financial accounts Co-ordination and completion of other key statutory returns e.g. Capital POBE/ LFR/Assets returns Provide technical support to other members of the team and council officers Provide information to external and internal auditors as required Work with others, both internal and external to the organisation, to provide financial information which supports service improvement and change Provide accountancy support to the organisation in its City Region Deal Essential Skills: CCAB / CIMA Qualified Proven experience in a similar role within a financial environment Familiar with financial management systems Competent in developing and maintaining complex spreadsheets Experience of reporting information to financial and non-financial managers Familiar with relevant Accounting Standards and legislative requirements Leadership skills and the ability to motivate others Evidence of producing high quality information to assist decision making Ability to work flexibly to meet tight deadlines and deal with conflicting priorities Effective communications skills Self-motivated and willingness to contribute fully to the objectives of the team
