Tax Manager, Primark

Do you have proven financial experience gained at a Big 4 firm? With a solid background in Tax? Are you a natural leader with an ability to see the big picture? If so, then your next step could be as Tax Manager at Primark, in Dublin.

As part of a growing business, this is a huge opportunity. Here, you’ll be responsible for developing and driving the centralised tax function for the entire business worldwide. You’ll design and implement a set of best practice Tax Principles for the Primark Group, monitoring compliance to make sure they’re fully aligned with the ABF Tax Principles. And as our retail business continues to expand worldwide, so do the opportunities to learn, meet new people and grow on a personal level.

What we’re looking for

  • Commercial awareness and insight. You’ll bring your extensive knowledge and experience to the team, putting in place a robust process for reviewing transactions, contracts and new business practices from a tax perspective. This includes monitoring any changes in the law.
  • The ability to improve process efficiency. Which means implementing new systems and adopting tools relevant to Tax that can make us more productive.
  • Leadership. At Primark, we’re in it together. And that means communicating, coaching, collaborating, and building effective relationships, right from day one. Your responsibility will be to make sure all deadlines are met, and all processes meet operational standards. To do this, you’ll implement effective training for the advisory and compliance teams, making sure they fully understand the impact of any legislative changes.
  • Great communication skills. It goes without saying. You’ll be connecting with all levels of the business, managing multiple key stakeholders and building bridges across all the Finance teams.
  • A good eye for detail. You’ll be expected to analyse and interrogate high volumes of data, all whilst maintaining a higher-level overview.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills. You’ll be juggling many responsibilities to strict deadlines, so the ability to prioritise is key.

Why work with us?

There’s the competitive salary, of course. But our team in Dublin covers many different countries, giving you the opportunity to work with colleagues from all over the world. We give our people more responsibility, and the freedom and space to grow and do things their way. And we have a huge programme of structured learning and development to help with that, covering everything from mindfulness sessions to developing your presenting skills.
