Job Description Summary: Manage and provide oversight for an internal team of outstanding e2E Accounting Consultants who provide financial, accounting, payroll, bookkeeping and tax services to entrepreneurial clients. This position will also play a key role in the development of projections, budgets, and financial analysis for assigned clients and will assist client management teams in making educated economic decisions as well as provide recommendations to clients regarding the future financial condition of their businesses. The CFO Consultant reports directly to the Finance Practice Leader.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
  • Oversee, coordinate, and review the assigned client activities of the Accounting Consultants for the accurate and timely preparation of financial statements and/ or financial schedules & reports, journal entries (daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly/annually), fixed asset schedules, payroll, and/or other general accounting/financial duties.
  • Consult with assigned clients and/or Accounting Consultants on various accounting/tax/business matters primarily related to general financial accounting such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, payroll processing, adjusting journal entries, cash management, debt management, sales & use tax, business filings, etc.
  • Manage special client projects including, but not limited to the preparation of budgets and/or financial projections, profitability analysis, cash management models, internal control and segregation of duties analysis, tax planning strategies, etc.
  • Responsible for overseeing and monitoring all e2E's client engagements with regard to accounting deadlines including, but not limited to: monthly/quarterly/annual financial closings, payroll cycles, payroll tax filings, W-2/W-3 filings, 1099 filings, sales & use tax filings, personal property tax filings, business license filings, personal/corporate/nonprofit tax returns, assigned client CFO consultations, and other special project deadlines.
  • Develop internal systems, process and quality controls that ensure compliance deadlines are met, the integrity of all reporting data is verified and client financial reporting is accurate.
  • Prepare and/or review both complex and non-complex client income tax returns, payroll tax returns, sales & use tax returns, personal property filings and business license filings, as well as, provide guidance to other staff regarding technical tax topics and issues.
  • Research and document technical accounting and tax topics/issues to support accounting and tax positions as well as to provide resources to other staff.
  • Responsible for detail tracking of hours by client and projects on a daily basis and oversight of firm client hour reporting.
  • Ensure Finance Practice Leader is informed by reviewing and analyzing special reports, review of Accounting Consultants work product, summarizing information and identifying trends for areas of responsibility.
  • Respond to CEO/Client Executive teams as assigned with accurate and timely work to facilitate financial reporting requirements and deadlines.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines on financial closes and projects which will require working within multiple client's deadlines, and available to travel locally to client meetings as well as out of town if needed.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications
  • University degree in the field of accounting, business administration, or another rigorous discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Controller reporting directly to CFO and managing direct reports (CPA Firm experience a plus)
  • 5+ years of experience with financial statement preparation, budgeting & forecasting, and cash flow analysis.
  • Non-profit experience
  • Active CPA License a plus.
  • QuickBooks experience preferred.
