Tax Analyst / Tax Assistant - Fast-growth retailer - 100% home-working / remote working - £25k-£35k plus full study support and great benefits

Robert Walters are hiring for a Tax Analyst for a incredibly fast-growing retail business. This is a newly-created full-time, permanent position.

This role is 100% home-working so applicants can be based anywhere in the UK; It comes with a salary in the region of £25k-£35k plus full study support and a great benefits package including unlimited holiday.

Working closely with the Tax Manager, the Tax Analyst will be responsible for looking after all the tax affairs of the business, including work on both corporate tax/direct tax and indirect tax/VAT.

The Tax Analyst will be responsible for day-to-date tax compliance and tax reporting - However there will be regular working with the Tax Manager on a variety of tax advisory, tax planing and tax project work.

The company are incredibly keen to develop this person in all areas of tax work - The aim is for this person to step up to Tax Manager in the next few years.

Responsibilities include:

Prepare first draft UK corporation tax returns for the Tax Managers review
Prepare tax accounting disclosures for the statutory accounts of each UK company and consolidated tax disclosure for the Tax Managers review
Calculate and monitor the groups effective tax rate
Prepare intrastat and VAT filings for the Tax Managers review
Assist with preparing research and development claims and technical reports
Provide support during statutory audit;
Carrying out independent technical research with the support of the Tax Manager e.g. reviewing tax treaties and researching tax treatment of specific technical issues
Assist with governance compliance including group tax strategy and tax risk register
Assist with Transfer Pricing requirements such as preparing and maintaining UK Local File, Group Master File and transfer pricing policy design and implementation where required
Assist with calculating exposure related to corporate interest restriction rules and interest disallowance in tax computations

The company is ideally looking for someone with experience in both corporate tax/direct tax and indirect tax/VAT - Though they are also happy to consider candidates with experience in only one of those areas.

Ideally you will be part-qualified ACA/ACCA/CTA or you will be a qualified AAT/ATT - But they will consider candidates without qualifications if they are keen to study.

They are happy to consider candidates with a background in practice, or those with experience in a similar role in industry.
