I am looking for an experienced Payroll & Pensions Manager for an Interim position whilst the permanent position is being recruited. I need someone who is immediately available, is used to running large, complex payrolls for multi-sites and who can hit the ground running whilst taking a detailed handover.

This role will involve leading a Leisure payroll and pensions team, ensuring accurate and timely processing of multiple payrolls and their related complexity, ensuring the business is compliant with all statutory regulations and policies, whilst ensuring the delivery of an effective, efficient service to stakeholders.

The Payroll and Pensions manager has line management responsibility for a team of 8 colleagues and is responsible for the delivery and management of multiple payrolls, ensuring an efficient, effective and accurate service. The Payroll and Pensions manager is the key point of contact within the business for all payroll and compliance issues acting as subject matter expert for statutory and procedural matters.

Duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Overall responsibility for the management of all monthly payrolls
  • Lead, motivate, engage and develop a team of Payroll and Pension Advisors
  • To provide professional and accurate advice in resolving payroll queries
  • Responsibility for meeting statutory/legislative requirements of a variety of pension schemes including NEST, GPPP, Final Salary and LGPS Admitted Body Status.
  • Responsible for ensuring pensions administration
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with NMW, pension auto enrolment, PAYE and NICs
  • To reconcile monthly payrolls and analyse payroll costs.
  • To post all financial interfaces to the general ledger and work with the Finance Team
  • To provide payroll information to Line managers to assist in financial, management accounting and budgets.
  • Develop, monitor and report Payroll KPIs

Profile

Essential

  • Previous experience managing a complex payroll (preferably using Resourcelink).
  • Previous experience of a workforce management system (preferably Quinyx)
  • Proven experience of leading and developing a successful payroll team.
  • Experience of leading payroll, pensions and benefits projects.
  • Experience of change transformation in a payroll environment.
  • Excellent and up to date knowledge of legislative/statutory payroll and pensions requirements.
  • Proven knowledge and experience of a variety of pension schemes.
  • CIPP qualified is desirable
