Job description

Principals are our handpicked, most senior people who are the guardians of the work we do for our clients. Our principals combine being a subject matter expert, with the training and coaching of our staff in order to make their careers progress as fast as their talent allows them to. At the same time they ensure that what we deliver to our clients meets our exceptional quality standards.

The Principal maintains the senior operational relationships with clients he/she has been assigned to.

The role of the principal is to have a deep understanding of our clients’ ongoing business and the structure’s goals. This puts the principal in the position where he/she guards over the use of internal and external processes and procedures and acts as the central point for all such matters.

The role holder has one reporting relationship:

  • To the Head of Delivery (task assignment / planning of work / staff matters / content and quality of work / contacts and relationship / core business processes)
  • Tasks

  • Training and coaching of people on the job such that their skills further develop by reviewing their work and giving feedback for learning
  • Ensure that team members generate as much as possible of the tasks assigned to them and maintain their chargeability
  • Ensure that new methodologies, standards, new regulations, the correct use of software, are applied and rolled out (training and manuals)
  • Develop and maintain procedures, standards and macros
  • Ensure that work delivered to clusters are accurate and service excellence
  • Support and provide input to the appraisal of people whom the Principal has worked with, trained or coached
  • Prepare and execute complex client transactions
  • Review the work of team members they performed
  • Perform complex Fund Accounting and administrative work for clients, including compliance and secretarial work, that cannot be performed by the other less experienced team members
  • Ensure, that new methodologies, standards, new regulations, the correct use of software, are applied
  • Training and coaching of people on the job such that their skills further develop by reviewing their work and giving feedback for learning
  • To ensure protections of information assets of IQ-EQ SSL and to abide by the ISMS in place at IQ-EQ SSL
  • Ensure projects assigned by the Head of Delivery are delivered on time
  • Qualifications

    Education / professional qualifications

  • Degree holder and/or Professional qualification ACCA/ACA
  • Background experience

  • Minimum 8 years’ experience
  • Experience in a similar role and enhanced knowledge in both Fund accounting, compliance and company secretarial functions would be an advantage
  • Technical

  • Expert knowledge in Fund Accounting
  • Masters Accounting standards (IFRS and relevant GAAPS)
  • Advanced knowledge in AML framework
  • Computer / program knowledge
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office Word and Excel. Expert knowledge in PFS-Paxus is required
  • Languages

  • Fluent in English and French
