The Role

Searchspring is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager who is engaged by a fast-paced environment and the opportunity to build a strong accounting and finance function at a growing Software -as-a-Service (SaaS) business. Experience with revenue recognition in the software industry and international growth and operations is preferred.

What's the day-to-day?

• Handle revenue recognition, billing, and cash management, all functions key to software-as-a-service businesses
• Manage key relationships with banks, lenders, auditors, tax and legal professionals
• Manage the global financial month- and year-end close process, ensuring conformance with GAAP and applicable international statutory reporting requirements
• Direct the annual audit process and oversee preparation of internal & external consolidated audited financial statements
• Provide oversight of global tax and other compliance reporting need
• Develop and recommend processes and policies to continuously improve the accuracy and timeliness of financial information
• Evaluate current systems and recommend process efficiencies or alternatives
• Provide input in the forecasting and budgeting process
• Proactively and independently manage and meet deadlines
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current accounting pronouncements, GAAP and other compliance issues

You'll be a good fit if you can:

• Build a strong accounting foundation so that you can evolve into an operationally focused finance business partner
• Have a strong propensity for Excel (you might even brag if you do not use a mouse)
• Communicate accounting and financial information effectively to non-financial stakeholders
• Spend time partnering with cross-functional teams to cultivate a full understanding of business actions and financial impact
• Proactively and independently support ad hoc special projects as required
• Be curious and have a desire to learn about areas you may not have encountered in previous roles

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree (minimum) required in Accounting or Finance
• Minimum 5+ years of progressive Accounting experience
• Public accounting experience with a Big 4 or nationally recognized accounting firm preferred
• Industry (SaaS or Technology) experience preferred
• Strong experience working with Quickbooks Online and integration of financial system preferred
• Advanced Excel skills required
• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, clear and precise in communication, tailor communication to the audience
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities
