- Research accounting literature and apply technical US GAAP standards to complex business issues
- Serve as a resource for implementation efforts and ongoing monitoring of significant new pronouncements, including ongoing communication and education of financial management on pronouncements.
- Evaluation and adoption of accounting standard updates, including drafting and maintaining relevant accounting policies.
- Assist in the preparation of accounting memos providing documentation of the Company's application of accounting principles to specific transactions.
- Prepare support for and assist with the year-end and quarterly financial audit.
- Critically and thoroughly analyze non-recurring transactions by properly identifying the accounting implications of various explicit terms and implied nuances, applying appropriate accounting rules and literature and exercising judgment in subjective areas to draw reasonable and acceptable conclusions.
- Ensures the integrity and accuracy of accounting and/or financial reporting information.
Prepares/reviews written analyses of issues to enhance the understanding of senior management; makes recommendations. - Works effectively with internal/external contacts to ensure business issues are resolved for the success of the company
- Responsible for adherence to and the development of the Company's framework of internal controls.
- Involved with the activities of one or more departments, specifically focusing on the development of a wireless business, which alone or together should have a significant impact on the success of the organization.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
- 5 - 7 years of progressive accounting experience in growth companies
- Public company and/or Big 4 accounting firm experience
- CPA, or equivalent qualification with strong U.S. GAAP technical knowledge
- Strong understanding and relevant experience with ASC 606
- Experience researching and documenting new accounting guidance and the accounting treatment of issues
- Excellent communication (written and verbal), organizational and time management, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Outstanding project management skills to establish and meet deadlines
- Self-motivated, able to problem solve creatively and meet expanding business needs as circumstances require
- Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team setting in a fast-paced work environment and with effective cross-functional management skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills, great team player, attention to detail, organized and thorough with the desire for continuous improvement
