Position Summary

The accounting manager is an integral part of our growing Finance team. The Accounting Manager will report to the Associate Director of our Southern CA team. This position will have primary responsibility for managing monthly close and supervising a team of up to 3 staff members (an all Senior Accountants). The ideal candidate is highly analytical, a problem-solver, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and maintain the accounting systems, policies and procedures
  • Compile, analyze and report accounting data for management reports and decision-making purposes
  • Manage and perform other various accounting activities
  • Manage monthly closings and supervise all accounting staff
  • Field auditing, reporting and budgeting questions from our internal and external stakeholders
  • Review several monthly reimbursement invoices with high transaction volume
  • Manage and review audit assignments from our government agency and auditing firm
  • Analyze and monitor cash flow for several bank accounts and perform Cash Balance Projections as needed
  • Other duties to be assigned

Professional Experience
  • 5 to 7 years full cycle non profit fund accounting experience strongly preferred
  • 3 to 5 years experience supervising accounting staff
  • Thorough understanding of GAAP
  • Thorough understanding of balance sheet accounts and reconciliations
  • Experience and proficiency with Intacct, Mineral Tree, and Microsoft Office
  • Understanding of all aspects of a payment transaction from payment acceptance, reconciliation, dispute resolution, and payouts
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced environment
  • Able to work both independently and collaboratively with a team and suggest improvements to various processes
  • Detail oriented and able to effectively organize and manage multiple responsibilities
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Excellent computer skills (MS Word, Excel, databases, etc.)
  • Ability and willingness to contribute to the high functioning of the Finance Team
  • High degree of discretion and excellent judgment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and business communication skills, both written and verbal and strict adherence to confidentiality.
