The GSA (Germany, Switzerland, Austria) Planning, Budgeting and Financial Analysis (PBFA) team is seeking for a Reporting Agent to support the local Finance teams in their task to provide excellent client service to key stakeholders and business partners in Germany, Switzerland and Austria.

The opportunity:

You will be part of the GSA Finance team and act as a finance professional providing critical thinking on reporting, analysis, business direction, operating performance and financial results. This role will establish a trusted relationship with our internal clients, understanding their needs and teaming with other finance team members to bring best in class reporting solutions, analytical support and functional expertise.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Your role sits at the intersection between the global reporting and analytics team and local user groups. You will primarily work for and support the Regional Reporting Finance contacts (RRF) who oversee the reporting function for Germany, Switzerland and Austria (GSA).
  • You will be part of various local and global expert reporting networks which coordinate end user requests, the development and testing of new reports, defect management and many other processes around reporting.
  • It will be your job to ensure efficient use of existing tools, coordinate local enhancement requests for new functionalities and to deal with and track issues and defects.
  • The role includes active reporting tasks to support both the business and the finance function. These tasks can be recurring or just ad hoc but, in any case, will be rather complex and will require a good level of business knowledge and proficiency in the use of our reporting tools.
  • Quality assurance will be another important focus of the role. We as a business rely on accurate and timely data in order to make the best decisions. You will be helping to make sure our client handlers will be provided with the best reporting and data possible to do their jobs.
  • Data security and access right management are additional fields where we need support. Your task will be to maintain an overview of existing access records, add new users and make sure we follow local company policies and regulations while handling large and confidential client data.
  • You will maintain the GSA Reporting Inventory which details the tools and reports that are available to client servers and enablement functions alike. Regular updates to this Inventory are required in order to keep up with the fast developments in the reporting landscape.
  • Given the responsibilities of the role, you will be asked to participate in working groups centered around reporting, be it at the local, regional or global level. These working groups will be formed on an as-needed basis, are mostly project related and only temporary.
  • Skills and attributes for success:

  • Preferred candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business administration or similar combined with 2 to 4 years of relevant work experience in a finance capacity – preferably in an international organization or a professional services firm
  • Confident and able to build strong relationships within the Finance network
  • Able to challenge and articulate opinions succinctly and persuasively
  • Commercial approach and ability to demonstrate clear business understanding
  • Proven analytical skills and strong attention to accuracy and detail
  • Proven experience with reporting and analytical tools, preferably not just as a user but in an administrative or coordinating role.
  • Proactive and self-sufficient working style with ability to prioritize and multitask whilst escalating as appropriate to prevent dilution of existing controls
  • Travel may be required based on business need
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills for building financial reports and presentations
  • Knowledge of SAP and VBA is a plus
  • Strong communication skills and ability to communicate financial information across a wide range of users
  • Strong project and time management skills, with ability to prioritize and work under pressure
  • Written and oral fluency in German and English required
