- Citi Corporate FP&A Executive Decision Support (EDS) works in close partnership with the CFO and other members of executive management to analyze and present financial results and high-priority initiatives. EDS has the unique position of seeing a holistic and strategic view of the firm and the industry, both internally as well as externally through collaboration in earnings and investor communications. The team is in frequent contact with senior managers across Citi and has broad, high-level exposure to every major product and functional area of the firm. Experience in this role will ensure the candidate has a strong network throughout Citi and a firm understanding of the key strategic and financial priorities of a leading global financial institution.
The Corporate FP&A EDS Group Manager reports to the EDS Lead and is responsible for the execution of advanced analysis and insight of Citi's financial projections and strategic goals in coordination with the broader FP&A, Strategy, Risk, Treasury, Capital Planning and other teams. Ideal candidates have an in-depth knowledge of the financial services industry across the full range of products and services offered by Citi and its competitors coupled with significant experience analyzing the financial performance of these firms. The objective is to apply a combination of strategic thinking and analytical prowess to help senior management gauge Citi's alignment with forecasted performance and to uncover and explore opportunities for improvement. - Responsibilities:
- Work with the EDS lead to perform analysis on Citi's forecasted and historical financial and strategic performance, both on a consolidated level but also across various business units, products and geographies as required
- Prepare innovative visualizations, presentations and commentary to help summarize complex information and highlight key issues
- Provide thoughtful and clear commentary and talking points for executive management in preparation for Board presentations and external conferences
- Assist in the execution of forward looking processes including forecasts, strategic/operating plans and financial outlooks
- Provide oversight, coaching and development of teams across offices in NY and Mumbai
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
- Qualifications:
- 8+ years of relevant Finance experience (or 4+ years of investment banking and/or corporate M&A experience), with emphasis on the financial services industry
- Expertise in financial statement analysis, including key accounting and financial/regulatory topics crucial to the success of a large, global financial services institution
- The most successful candidates will have strong knowledge of the broad spectrum of financial services: retail banking, credit cards, mortgages, payments, wealth management, asset management, investment banking, markets/trading, brokerage, RIA/advisory, corporate lending, commercial banking, mobile/digital solutions, emerging technologies
- Excellent quantitative and data visualization skills with a strong attention to detail
- Comfortable structuring and executing own workstream and deliverables, especially when presented with only general guidance; knows how to take limited direction and respond with highly effective materials and analysis
- Willingness to operate in a fast-paced, intense environment with multiple stakeholders
- Mastery of Excel, PowerPoint and Word, both to help train and guide others as well as to apply these skills as required
- Sharp communication and diplomacy skills in order to guide, influence and convince others, especially colleagues and partners across the firm
- Prior experience managing teams; able to train and motive junior colleagues
- FIG investment banking and/or corporate strategy experience a plus
