Job Purpose:

The role is as a business analyst within the client reporting workstream. The business analyst's role is to clearly articulate report builds in the form of Business Requirements Documents and to perform User Acceptance Testing prior to performing joint testing with the client.

Job Background/context:

As part of the Aberdeen Standard Life merger Citi has been asked to provide end client reporting for the merged entity. The client is based predominantly in the UK and Citi's report build and day-to-day operations is based in India. The role is as part of a project team to interface between the onshore client and Citi's offshore service delivery.

The project started on 1 January 2018 and is planned to complete by 31 December 2020. Successful applicants will be joining an existing core project team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Receipt of client report examples:
    • Analyse report and create list of questions for the client on how the report functions
    • Attend meetings with client to better understand the report
    • Split report into components and templates
    • Write Business Requirement Documents that clearly articulate how the report components should be created and displayed including any data input requirements and branding considerations
    • Write Business Requirement Documents that clearly articulate how the templates should be created and displayed including components, any fund specific component inclusion/exclusion and branding considerations
    • Help maintain a central log of unique components and templates and ensure that components that have already been defined are re-used across templates
  • Work with the Citi/Client data teams to ensure data gaps are addressed
  • Ensure all business requirements documents are signed off by the client, then pass to the Citi developments team. Ensure that the central report log is updated for these events.
  • Answer any questions raised by the development team
  • Development team will perform an initial test on the report build. Once this has been completed the onshore business analysts will be required to confirm that the report has been built to specification before it is passed to the client for joint testing
  • Work with the client to obtain formal sign-off on the joint testing
  • Representing the team on internal project meetings
  • Develop strong, pro-active relationships with all internal and external customers including client, offshore partners, client service and middle office teams.
  • Working closely with other relevant operational peers to ensure that project delivery risks are minimised.
  • Provide weekly status updates into the workstream project manager
  • Participate in various client calls on behalf of the team.

Knowledge/Experience:
  • Candidate should have knowledge of investment operations/ reporting functions and have at least 5 years working experience in the Investment Management/Financial Services Industry, with time spent within:
  • a client reporting role, onboarding new clients or servicing changes to existing client reports.
  • a financial statement preparation team preparing at least draft but preferably desk top published annual financial statements
  • an external audit team with focus on the audit of the financial statements


Skills:
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Numerate
  • Able to write clear and concise system requirements
  • Detailed knowledge of Financial reporting for funds or their end clients
  • Computer literate with knowledge of MS Office (word/excel)
  • Understand concept of a broad range of investment management instruments
  • Experience of Vermillion software


Qualifications:
  • Educated to degree standard
  • Accountancy qualification
